In what ways does your media product use develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

When planning and creating my music video i have tried to used a variety of different conventions used by other artists in the rock/indie industry.

 

One convention that i tried to use in my music video was close ups and a variety of camera angles. Andrew Goodwin said that close ups must be used to give the artist their identity. Close ups have been used in both parts of my music video, the performance and the narrative. I have also used close ups on my Digipak Album. This has been done so that the branding is clear and means that it will work together well using synergy. I have done this so that it  makes it easier for the artist and audience to have a relationship. 

 

Another convention that i used in my music video was the subject. This means what the video was about, The narrative of my video was about a girl and a boy in a relationship. I had the idea that the girl and boy have a fight and he starts getting very abusive towards her. This is shown through the use of camera angles and body language shown by the actors. I chose this theme as a lot of people listening to the song might be going through the same thing which means that they will be able to relate to it.
