In what ways does your media product use develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

One convention I have developed in my music video is the performance parts. From watching other indie rock band 's music videos I noticed that their videos were mainly if not all performance based. Indie Rock music videos mainly focus on the performance parts rather than the narrative this is to show off the energy that they have. I have tried to recreate this in my music video by making it more performance based. This is because I wanted the audience to get to know my artist by showing that he is passionate about performing.

Another convention which i have developed in my music video is the clothing that the artist is wearing in the music video. It is very typical of indie rock artists to be wearing skinny jeans, trainers, plain colour t-shirt and a jacket. I have done this because I wanted him to be dressed casually as I wanted the main focus to be on the music and the video rather than what the artist was wearing.

Another convention I have developed is camera angles. In most indie rock videos a lot of close ups are used. I have used close ups in my music video. This is to show the artists emotions and the artists facial expressions. Another reason why i used close ups in my music video was so that the audience can associate the artist with the music.
